But whoever has this world’s goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him? 1 Join 3:17
Throughout this world there are many who are in lack of food, clothing, shelter, compassion, friendship, time, and many other needs for life, comfort, and peace. God teaches us through His Word that true love is tangible. Jesus gave us Himself, and during His time, people were able to see Him, hear Him, and touch or be touched by Him. We today, who believe, have God in us, and He tangibly gives gifts inwardly (i.e. love, peace, joy, patience) and externally (i.e. love, family, car, life). God’s nature is to give sacrificially. In Genesis chapter one God states that He has created man, male and female, after His own likeness, and with mankind being the image of God, our lives must reflect God’s. The greatest gift is the gift of sacrifice, and we, who believe, should give to those who are in need of an ear, a hug, some food, clothes, time, money, or whatever our Lord places on your heart.
